THE PLATE OF GOOD FOOD
AND SEED GUARDIANS

It is called the time of scarcity, however the facilitators find that each community during the period from June to September, the coffee growing communities have a wealth of food sprouting in their cornfields, coffee plantations, and orchards.

In focus groups and through dialogues and reflections on these foods that are frequently forgotten by the saturation of junk food marketing, coffee growers find another plate full of healthy food. They agree that these foods are the most important for good nutrition. In order not to lose this diversity, the facilitators have decided to start a process to recover native seeds. Integrating what they learned from the last exchange in Nicaragua about the seed bank system (CADAS) and the seed networks in Mexico, guardians of seeds, the young people started a network for the care of the native seeds of their regions.
